Happy New Year everyone!
Welcome to my first Newsletter of 2016! It is my hope that this year will be one of the best for everyone concerned. The first month of a new year is like a first page of a fresh, unread book, the content yet to be discovered, and the journey explored. Last year was not the best for me, but as each new day dawns, new hope dawns with it, and so I hope it is the same for all my readers, and now on with the January news.
For me, January begins launch preparations throughout Niagara for my newly released, 5 star award winning, romantic fiction drama, ‘Willow’s Walk’.
Willow made its official online release, December 5, 2015, but the Niagara and surrounding area launch for the novel is planned in a series of separate events, at different times, and venues. It is such an exciting time to look forward to, and I am extremely grateful that it is coming in the way in which it is, for it is a major lift in helping me cope with the tremendous loss of my mother back in September, and in that respect, Willow has truly been a Godsend. I am very proud of this romance novel, and it is my hope that those who read it will not only enjoy it, but will gain some valuable insight into an often over-looked side of the Internet, and the perils that can come with it.
The official launch events begin Monday, February 1st. where I have been asked to be guest author & speaker at The Writer’s Forum – Thorold Chapter – which will begin at 4 pm at Thorold Library, 14 Ormond Street N, Thorold, Ontario. I will be reading from, ‘Willow’s Walk’, as well as my 4-star romantic fiction drama, ‘Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary,’ and discussing both. On Wednesday, February 3rd., I have been asked to sit on a romance panel entitled, ‘Love in the Afternoon,’ being held at The Niagara Falls Library, 4848 Victoria Ave, Niagara Falls, Ontario, which will consist of Niagara romance authors, along with Harlequin Romances’ Stefanie London, of which I am very much looking forward to meeting, as I am all fellow authors. Each of us will be reading selections of our work, and taking questions from the audience.
I will once again be taking part in the Annual Ladies Day Event being held this year on February 6th at St. David’s Anglican Church, 39 Thorold Rd., Welland, Ontario. This event runs from 11 am to 4 pm, and I will be on hand with limited copies of both ‘Willow’s Walk, and ‘Passions in Paris.’ I will be holding a draw at 3:30 for a signed, gift-boxed copy of ‘Willow’s Walk.’ The winner will be notified by email. ‘Willow’s Walk’ would not be gaining the exposure it has if it were not for the expertise of my extremely efficient Marketing Rep & Publicist, Mr. Don McCauley, and his extremely informative Press Releases. Airing on February 5th for ‘Willow’s Walk’, will be an interview conducted by Indie author, Cheryl Holloway, so be sure to catch it if you can at her official site at: http://www.cherylholloway.net/ I will be posting this interview here on my official website the day of airing.
My first signing date for ‘Willow’s Walk’ has just been confirmed, and it is happening on March 12th from 1 to 4:30 pm at Seaway Mall Coles in Welland, Ontario. There will be further news on this as it draws closer.
I would like to take this opportunity to give my thanks and gratitude to all those who consistently support my work through the many ways and venues in which they do. This is not only a must for an independent author; it is a gesture that is worth its weight in gold. I am fortunate to have some fantastic fans and followers, and I am grateful for each and every single one. Take a bow, for you definitely deserve to.
Newsletters are a fantastic way to stay in the know with regard to the life and happenings of an Indie author, but should you wish to not receive my monthly news, make your request in the contact area here on my website, or email me at writerrusty@hotmail.ca and your name will be removed from my mailing list.
And as always, support your local authors, as well as all your local talent in the Arts. Remember, the household names you have come to know so well were once unknown and unsupported – that is until someone took the time to give them a chance. See you next month!
Cheers!
Rusty B.
