“Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary” is a 798-page novel by Rusty Blackwood. The story unfolds in Wychmere Willows, a beautiful place that overlooks Lake Ontario in Canada. The siblings Joe and Emily, with Joe’s daughter CJ, await the arrival of other members of the family. Their mother and grandmother, respectively, had just died and they decided to inspect the house full of her memories. They found her will and diary, as well as a manuscript that revealed to them her most extraordinary love story. In 1999, author Joy Wychmere and Irish actor Cullen Malone met in Paris and discovered that they were soul mates. They were then entangled in a complicated love story that not many can ever imagine. Joy Wychmere and Cullen Malone’s love goes through many difficult tests but will their love for each other prevail?

It is difficult not to get excited when reading the novel, “Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary”. It is a passionate love story that aptly starts in Paris, one of the world’s most romantic cities. The complex and stirring love affair between Joy Wychmere and Cullen Malone is told through a diary. This does not make the characters less vivid. On the contrary, there is something exciting about the feeling of reading another person’s private diary. And this is perhaps what makes this narrative unique because it makes the reader feel the excitement of intruding into the private life of the owner of the diary. The story also has its share of dangers and intrigues that will not let the reader put down the book too easily. This is because the author chooses her words well. The book is peppered with metaphors that enhances the romantic appeal of the narrative. Enjoyable and exciting, this is a book for people who have romance flowing in their veins.
