MARCH NEWS LETTER 2019 …
WELCOME READERS & WELCOME SPRING!
How wonderful it is to once again anticipate rebirth, another new cycle, and renewed life. After the desolate winter we’ve not only experience and endured, it is exciting to look out the window to glorious sunshine everywhere, and even though the air is still cold, it will only be a matter of time before we are complaining of immense heat. I always look forward to the celebration of spring, and Easter, soon to be upon us, and on that note, I shall begin my Newsletter …
I am extremely pleased with my latest romance/drama, The Perils of Autumn, published by Tellwell Talent, available on Amazon in paperback, hardback, and Kindle, as well as Kobo. Also available at the order desk of COLES, CHAPTERS, and INDIGO. I enjoyed myself immensely when writing this expressive story, which will be continued in the coming follow up novel, Return to Autumn, of which I have begun with a few chapters written in the first draft, and I find myself once again swept into the exciting equestrian life in the rolling hills of Kentucky, and the fictitious area known as The Meadows. This posh area boasts many prestigious horse stables, yet they all pale in comparison to Landon Lawns Stables, owned and operated by English horse master, Cyril Landon, and his young wife, registered nurse, Autumn Leeves.

It is that time of year again when The Author Show holds its annual Top Female Author contest, and I have once again been invited by executive producer Danielle Hampson, to participate. I have done so since the contest’s inception in 2017, having been kindly nominated each year, allowing me to acquire a nomination seal, which I proudly display at my official website https://rusty-blackwood.com on my Bio/Contact page. It is always wonderful to win, but to be nominated is also an accolade, and I am most appreciative of readers who have, and continue to support me though their nominations of my work. Please take the time to check out the contest, and cast your vote for not only me, but for any female author of your choosing. Take this secure link, and follow the prompts:

Beginning next Monday morning, April 1st, and happening each morning until Friday, April 5th, The Perils of Autumn will be sponsoring the morning broadcasts of Joe Crawford’s Warrior Weather, one of the best, if not the best weather forecasts throughout the entire Niagara region. Each report is accompanied by his always informative and often hilarious DYK – Did You Know? You will be surprised at the tidbits you hear, many of which you may or may not know. Perils’ sponsorship is in keeping with the opening launch and signing of The Perils of Autumn that kicks off at Seaway Mall COLES on Saturday, April 6th from 1 – 4:30 pm. You will be able to catch his daily morning reports at:

Joe will be interviewing me for his celebrated internet radio show, The Joe Show Live on April 16th at his Port Colborne studios, where we will discuss The Perils of Autumn, as well as other areas of the self-publishing world and what it’s like to work within it. I will post this interview when it airs. I have been interviewed a few times by Joe for Willow’s Walk, and Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary, both of which I had a great time. I have even done a cooking show with Joe two years ago, Fri, Oct. 28th/17 celebrating Halloween where we discussed the republication of Willow’s Walk while making homemade pumpkin cookies topped with cream cheese icing. That was both delicious, and a ton of fun. You can have a listen here: https://soundcloud.com/search?q=rusty%20blackwood Scroll to Oct. 28th/17

I am also pleased to announce the recent release in the ongoing Derwood Tugbottom comedy series, entitled Derwood Goes Caribbean. This is the third installment centering on this eccentric and audacious retired London England Civil Hall official. In this hilarious adventure, Derwood, and his best friend, the steadfast Scot, Robert McEwen, decide to board a swinging singles cruise to the sunny Caribbean, leaving the snow and cold behind for a twelve-day getaway over the Xmas holidays of 2014. This title is available in paperback and Kindle editions at https://www.amazon.ca/DERWOOD-GOES-CARIBBEAN-Rusty-Blackwood/dp/1795139706/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_1?crid=30MULSZUGIPDU&keywords=derwood+goes+caribbean&qid=1553790351&s=gateway&sprefix=derwood+goes+%2Caps%2C154&sr=8-1-fkmrnull, and https://www.amazon.com/DERWOOD-GOES-CARIBBEAN-Rusty-Blackwood/dp/1795139706/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1553790419&sr=8-1-fkmrnull.
Readers and followers of Derwood have loved his unpredictable antics since he first burst on the scene in 2012 in The Misadventures of Derwood Tugbottom, followed by Derwood Returns. These titles are also available in paperback and Kindle on all Amazons. Watch for the fourth installment, Derwood Comes Home.
