I liked the book quite a lot. And the title is certainly well chosen because it is a story about passioned people fighting for their love. The book is dramatic, eventful and exciting. One read the almost 800 pages wondering however the author will manage to get her characters pretty safely through their ordeals. It is a book with both sex and swearwords but no more of either than can be defended considering this is a story about modern adult people.

Here is a summer book review on: Passions In Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary, by Rusty Blackwood. It is a spellbinding book. The characters are incredible. Cully and Joy are soulmates. André and Philippe’s relationship is loving. All ladies need a man like André in their lives. Philippe’s character is sad and horrible. It makes you want a book just on Philippe and André’s characters and how their relationship developed. There are other characters that you soon will not forget like Mavis Dempster’s unique outlook on life. Dr. Arden Marceau, and nurse Chelsea; that great british attitude. Get this book and read it. I highly recommend it for the rest of your summer reading.

Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary by Rusty Blackwood

My Rating :- 4.9/5

A forgotten diary that has been missing for forty years tells the tale of rekindled love that was almost lost in Paris in 1999. Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary is a captivating love story that explores forbidden love, heinous adultery, cunning jealousy, and unrequited passion. It is a narrative that will stay with you because it is filled with danger, intrigue, and love that has no bounds. This intricate and moving tale centers on two star-crossed soul mates, Canadian author Joy Wychmere and Irish actor Cullen Malone, and describes how three vengeful individuals-the worst of whom in Philippe Robealard, a delusional, misguided homosexual artist who is determined to make the actor suffer for stealing the man he loves-put their unbreakable love to the test. Joy fights to survive a direct gunshot while Cullen is offered the option of ingesting a bottle of barbiturates, which is certain to take his life, or loss Joy for good if he does not, as they struggle through a series of miscommunications, humiliation, agony, and injuries. The besieged couple’s situation becomes even more dire when it is revealed that fire is charging in their direction. A true test of endurance and tenacity is whether love can endure against all difficulties and the passage of time. Turn the pages to read the story in detail. The language used is rich and simple alongwith smooth narration. Highly recommended to all. I would definitely love to read more books by the author. Overall, a great read.

This book is the best romantic thriller that centers on a deep, star-crossed love that is tested by intense challenges. The story revolves around Joy Wychmer and Cullen Malone, whose love is threatened by jealousy, misunderstandings, and malicious individuals. The rediscovery of a lost diary reveals the intricate web of emotions and events that nearly shattered their relationship in 1999. At the heart of the conflict is Philippe Robealard, a disturbed artist consumed by jealousy. Philippe’s twisted obsession with Cullen leads him to take dangerous actions in an attempt to destroy Cullen’s life for “stealing” the man Philippe desires. His interference, along with two other malicious figures, creates a series of dangerous situations for Joy and Cullen.

The novel explores themes of forbidden love, betrayal, and the resilience of true passion. Throughout the story, Joy and Cullen face various trials, from emotional misunderstandings to life-threatening situations. Their love is tested by pain and suffering, culminating in a series of intense events where both characters’ survival is uncertain. One of the most climactic moments is when Cullen must choose between taking a deadly dose of barbiturates or risking losing Joy forever. To make matters worse, the couple finds themselves trapped as a fire blazes toward them, further intensifying their dire circumstances. It’s a beautiful blend of emotional drama and suspense, pushing its characters to their physical and emotional limits. The question that looms over the story is whether their love will survive. Book- Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary
by @10_a5m2
Rating- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Some books wrap you in a warm embrace of romance, while others keep you at the edge of your seat with their intensity. Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary by Rusty Blackwood somehow does both—and that’s exactly why I loved reading it. It’s a story that pulses with raw emotion, gripping suspense, and the kind of passion that feels larger than life. And yet, at its heart, it’s deeply human.

The title couldn’t be more fitting. Passion is everywhere passion for love, passion for revenge, passion for survival. The novel unfolds like a beautifully chaotic whirlwind, where Joy Wychmere and Cullen Malone, two star-crossed lovers, fight for a love that seems destined to be shattered. Their chemistry is palpable, and their journey is one of unrelenting highs and devastating lows. Rusty Blackwood doesn’t just tell a love story; she makes you feel it every ache, every moment of longing, and every fear that the world might rip them apart.

What really struck me was how the novel doesn’t just stop at romance it’s laced with intrigue, obsession, and a dangerous kind of devotion that twists into something sinister. Philippe Robealard, the antagonist, is the kind of character you can’t look away from. His warped jealousy and vengeful obsession add layers of psychological depth, making the story much more than just a typical love affair. The stakes are high, and as the tension builds, you start wondering, Can love truly conquer all?

And let’s talk about the sheer scale of this novel—almost 800 pages! But not once did it feel like a drag. Every page had me wondering how Joy and Cullen would make it through their trials. There’s betrayal, heartbreak, and moments of sheer desperation that make you pause and *breathe*. And then there’s the finale—intense, dramatic, and emotionally charged. It left me with a whirlwind of thoughts, questioning just how much love can endure.

Another thing I appreciated was how Rusty Blackwood kept the story grounded in reality, even with all its grand drama. The romance isn’t sugarcoated, and the novel embraces the complexities of adult relationships. The dialogue, the conflicts, the sensuality—it all felt authentic and mature, without tipping into unnecessary excess.
Passions in Paris is a deeply immersive experience. It’s thrilling, passionate, and utterly absorbing. If you love romance with depth, tension, and high stakes, this is a book you won’t forget anytime soon.

🌟BOOK REVIEW: PASSIONS IN PARIS-REVELATIONS OF A LOST DAIRY 🌟

🌟 AUTHOR: RUSTY BLACKWOOD🌟

Review: Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary by Rusty Blackwood is a large scale love tale that is rife with betrayal, passion, and intense emotion. The book chronicles the turbulent romance between Canadian novelist Joy Wychmere and Irish actor Cullen Malone, set against the charming but perilous backdrop of Paris. It is an intense and emotional read as jealousy, deceit, and mortal peril test their deep, seemingly indestructible love.

A lost diary from 1999 is found, revealing a story of obsession and forbidden desire. Blackwood explores the extremes of love and hate in her intricate, multi-layered story. The antagonist Philippe Robealard, a despised and vindictive artist whose fixation on Cullen creates the conditions for explosive encounters, is among the book’s most captivating features. Because he will do everything it takes to get his warped retribution, his presence gives the drama a psychological depth.

The reader is drawn into the characters’ hardships by Blackwood’s evocative and detailed prose, which also creates a realistic image of Paris. The work skillfully strikes a balance between romance and suspense, resulting in heart-stopping scenes where the heroes must deal with both emotional upheaval and potentially fatal danger. The couple is pushed to their breaking point and forced to make hard decisions during the tense and desperate climax.

Some parts of the book could seem exaggerated for dramatic effect, even though the ideas of unwavering love and unending desire remain ageless. Readers who favor intense, character driven romance with a hint of melodrama will probably enjoy the intensity of this book. Those who appreciate high-stakes, intensely emotional, and slightly suspenseful love stories will find Passions in Paris to be an engrossing book.

Set in the center of Paris, this compelling story is about love, treachery, and survival. Perfect for those who enjoy dramatic stories and passionate romance

Author, Rusty Blackwood

Passions in Paris : Revelations of a Lost Diary is a passionate love story novel written by the author Rusty Blackwood, published June 2013.

This novel is a rollercoaster of love, obsession, and betrayal set in the ever-enchanting city of Paris. Passions in Paris dives deep into the intense relationship between Joy Wychmere, a Canadian writer, and Cullen Malone, an Irish actor. What starts as a powerful romance quickly spirals into a storm of jealousy, danger, and emotional chaos when secrets from a long-lost diary resurface.

The story doesn’t hold back on emotion — it’s raw, dramatic, and deeply personal. One of the most gripping characters is Philippe Robealard, a bitter and dangerous artist whose obsession with Cullen turns toxic. His twisted pursuit of revenge adds a sharp edge to the story, pushing the couple into increasingly risky and heartbreaking territory.

Blackwood’s writing paints Paris in all its charm and mystery, while also digging into the emotional weight of love when it’s tested by lies and betrayal. The book finds a good rhythm between passion and suspense, with moments that genuinely take you by surprise. Yes, it’s a long read — over 800 pages — and at times it does feel like the drama is dialed up a bit too high. But if you enjoy intense, character-driven romances with a bit of a dark twist, this one will definitely keep you hooked. It’s a wild, emotional journey through love, pain, and everything in between. Highly recommended from my side.

Rating-⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary by Rusty Blackwood is a sweeping, emotionally intense saga that grips the reader from the first page and doesn’t let go. At its heart lies the story of Joy Wychmere and Cullen Malone, two soulmates whose love burns brightly amidst chaos, betrayal, and heart-wrenching trials. Their bond is tested again and again, but what shines through is their relentless desire to hold on to each other, no matter the odds.

What sets this novel apart is its incredible blend of romance and psychological suspense. Blackwood doesn’t settle for a typical love story—instead, she crafts a narrative rich with passion, obsession, and danger. The antagonist, Philippe Robealard, is disturbingly complex, driven by a twisted love that morphs into an all-consuming vengeance. His presence looms large, fueling the story’s darkest moments and giving it a chilling edge.

Despite its nearly 800-page length, the novel never falters in pace or intensity. Each chapter peels back another layer of the characters, revealing their flaws, their resilience, and the raw vulnerability that makes them so human. There are moments of bliss and others of torment—from torturous choices to life-threatening situations—that kept me emotionally invested throughout.

The ending is explosive and unforgettable. As Joy fights for her life and Cullen is faced with a devastating ultimatum, Blackwood brings their journey to a breathtaking crescendo. Passions in Paris is a novel for mature readers, but above all, it is for those who believe that love—true, soul-deep love—can survive anything.

Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary by Rusty Blackwood is a captivating tale of forbidden love. When Joe Wychmere, his sister Emily, and his daughter CJ sorted through their grandmother’s belongings after her passing, they stumbled upon a dusty, locked diary that revealed a shocking secret. The diary exposed Joy Wychmere’s romantic connection with actor Cullen Malone, a love that blossomed in the City of Love, Paris. Joy’s life was transformed when she met Cullen, the man she had loved for years, and they had to navigate their feelings amidst family obligations.

As I read, I was emotionally invested, feeling both sorrow and joy alongside the characters. Rusty Blackwood masterfully crafted the characters, especially Joy and Cullen, making their story feel like a true-life event. The book’s length may seem daunting, but the narrative is engaging, with a perfect balance of suspense, forbidden love, family, and passion. A delightful aspect of the story was uncovering the significance of CJ’s name, Christmas Joy, and its importance to Cullen and Joy.

Book: Passions in Paris

By @10_a5m2 Rusty Blackwood

Ratings:5/5

✏️Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary is an emotional whirlwind of romance, suspense, and heartbreak that lingers long after the last page. At its core, it’s the story of Joy Wychmere, a gifted Canadian author, and Cullen Malone, a charismatic Irish actor, whose connection is so intense it feels destined—yet nearly destroyed by jealousy, betrayal, and dangerous obsession.

✏️What struck me most about this book is how beautifully it captures the fragile yet powerful nature of love. Joy and Cully’s bond feels unshakable, but the constant interference of vindictive characters tests them in unimaginable ways. The conflicts aren’t just surface-level drama; they’re life-threatening, forcing the couple to confront choices that could cost them everything. There are scenes so gripping—particularly when Joy faces near-death and Cullen is handed an impossible decision—that I found myself holding my breath, desperate to know if love could truly endure such trials.

✏️The setting of Paris adds another layer of richness to the story. The city of romance becomes both a backdrop for passion and a stage for danger, and that contrast made the narrative even more compelling. The discovery of the old diary ties everything together in such an intimate way—it feels like you’re uncovering secrets right alongside the characters, which makes the reading experience all the more immersive.

✏️What I really appreciated is that the story doesn’t shy away from the darker side of love—the jealousy, the betrayal, the cruelty of those who can’t stand to see others happy. Yet through it all, there’s an unwavering message about resilience and the strength of two people fighting against the odds. By the time the flames threaten to consume them, you realize this isn’t just a romance—it’s a test of endurance, devotion, and destiny.

✏️Passions in Paris is intense, dramatic, and unforgettable. It’s for readers who believe in soulmates, but also understand that true love is rarely easy—it’s something you fight for, again and again, no matter the obstacles.

BOOK REVIEW: PASSIONS IN PARIS

AUTHOR : RUSTY BLACKWOOD

MY RATINGS: 5/5

Every once in a while, I come across a book that lingers in my mind long after I’ve closed it, and Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary is exactly that kind of story. Rusty Blackwood weaves a tale that’s not just about love, but about the strength it takes to hold onto it when the world seems determined to tear it apart.

The story follows Canadian author Joy Wychmere and Irish actor Cullen Malone, whose romance is as passionate as it is dangerous. Their love feels fated, but it’s constantly tested by jealousy, betrayal, and a relentless enemy in Philippe Robealard, whose obsession adds a chilling edge to the narrative. From misunderstandings and heartbreak to life-threatening trials, Joy and Cullen’s journey is filled with moments that keep you turning the pages, wondering if love truly can conquer all.

The book itself is beautifully designed, with a striking black-and-white cover that captures the essence of passion, danger, and intimacy at the heart of the story. The pop of red in the rose and the bold typography reflect the drama within the pages, making it a cover that instantly draws attention. Blackwood’s writing style mirrors this same intensity—emotive, descriptive, and deeply engaging. Her words flow with a cinematic quality, immersing the reader in Parisian streets, heated emotions, and high-stakes tension.

What makes this book stand out is how it blends romance with suspense. The emotions are vivid, the tension is gripping, and the Parisian backdrop gives everything a timeless, almost cinematic quality. I found myself completely absorbed, caught between the tenderness of their love and the dangers closing in around them.

If you’re looking for a romance that carries both beauty and intensity, this book will not disappoint. It’s powerful, emotional, and unforgettable—a love story that truly tests the limits of devotion.

Sometimes a story finds you when you least expect it—and Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary did just that for me.

From the very first page, I felt pulled into a world where love isn’t just romantic—it’s survival. A lost diary, hidden for forty years, opens the door to a story that feels both intimate and cinematic. Joy and Cullen’s relationship is not the kind of soft, predictable love story you might imagine; it’s raw, flawed, and constantly tested. Paris isn’t just a backdrop here—it’s a silent witness to betrayal, jealousy, and the kind of passion that makes people do reckless, dangerous things.

What struck me most was how layered the book is. Yes, it’s about forbidden love and heartbreak, but it’s also about resilience—two people clinging to each other even when everything (and everyone) seems determined to tear them apart. Some parts made me pause and breathe because of how intense they felt—gunshots, ultimatums, even fire threatening to consume it all. It’s not a light read; it’s a storm you willingly walk into.

The writing itself feels almost old-school romantic—lush, descriptive, and unapologetically dramatic. I found myself underlining lines that were equal parts poetic and devastating. If you’re the kind of reader who loves romance that isn’t afraid of darkness, this one will stay with you long after the last page.

📖 Final thought: Passions in Paris isn’t about “happily ever after” in the usual sense. It’s about what love costs—and whether it’s worth paying the price.

Imagine opening a dusty diary and accidentally unleashing the most intense love story of your life. Passions in Paris leans into drama without apology, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. It’s messy, emotional, and filled with big feelings. A great read for fans of high-stakes romance.

This is not a “cute Paris romance.” This is a fight-for-your-life, love-against-the-world, destiny-on-hard-mode kind of story. Joy and Cullen’s relationship feels raw, flawed, and painfully human. Dramatic? Yes. Memorable? Absolutely.

I came for the romance and stayed for the sheer chaos. A lost diary, star-crossed lovers, and obstacles stacked higher than the Eiffel Tower. Emotional, dramatic, and occasionally jaw-dropping, this book proves love really does survive… a lot.

If love could survive misunderstandings, gunshots, fire, and extremely questionable decisions, it would look exactly like this story. The drama is intense, the emotions are big, and the plot never lets you relax. A wild romantic ride with Parisian flair.

This book has everything: romance, danger, jealousy, and a diary that waited forty years to spill the tea. Paris has never been so dramatic. I laughed, I gasped, and I questioned my life choices for reading it in one sitting. Highly entertaining and delightfully over-the-top.

Passions in Paris is like a soap opera that went to art school. Forbidden love, villains with grudges, and soul mates who just cannot catch a break. It’s dramatic, bold, and surprisingly heartfelt. Definitely not a quiet love story, and that’s part of the fun.

Paris? Romance? Mystery? Say less, I’m in.
This book gave me drama, tension, and enough twists to make my head spin (in a good way). The diary format made it feel personal, like I was reading someone’s hidden memories. I came for the love story and stayed for the suspense. Super entertaining!
