Happy New Year, Readers! Welcome to a new year of news! I hope everyone had an enjoyable festive season, making memories to last a lifetime. So much has happened in world news, some bringing hope, some bringing unsettled feelings, but all we can do is stand fast, hold to our course, and move forward. That can often be easier said than done, but if your head is in the right place, your common sense motivating you, and your feet planted firmly in truth, then the steps ahead can be easier to take, and now on with my literary news of January.
This has been a slow month by way of activities and events. I decided not to do any area events over the winter months, as one never can be certain of the weather, the traveling conditions, and people looking for books – observed from my experience anyway – are not plentiful this time of year. So concentrating on online book activities is much better.
The first online event on the schedule is slated for Valentine’s Day, February 14th on Amazon. FOR ONE DAY ONLY, beginning at 6 AM UNTIL 11 PM, you may download a copy of my 5-star romantic fiction drama, Willow’s Walk, for a mere $0.99. This is a great deal, and I hope many take advantage of this generous offer. Please share the news, and help make this event a successful one. In March, Willow’s Walk will be appearing on The Indie Review for Book Feature & Interview on March 14th. Now this is one of an offered date by Indie View, and may possibly change. Stay tuned for further updates concerning this event.

Work slowly, but diligently continues on my new romantic fiction drama, The Perils of Autumn, a sweeping drama with a touch of romance, suspense, and intrigue. Set in the beautiful rolling hills of Kentucky, Landon Lawns Stables, a renowned racing stable known for its hot-blooded thoroughbreds, as well as its top jockey, sets the scene for a story you will not soon forget.
Autumn Leeves-Landon, the young practical nurse who comes to care for the ailing wife of an eccentric English horseman at Landon Lawns Stables, his sprawling equestrian center situated just outside Lexington, Kentucky, finds more than she bargained for when she meets Duff Taylor, Landon Lawns’ bold and celebrated jockey. Duff has a secret, one that he will stop at nothing to prevent from being found out. Will Autumn discover it, or will she meet the same fate as the stables lead-hand, William Brown?

Writers are a sensitive lot. Our emotions often run high, and they can cause stress, and strife. This can often trigger the words we say in comments, and posts, and it is my hope that people continue to keep an open mind before judging, and or jumping to conclusions. In the recent trails affecting our country, let us be diligent, compassionate, and supportive. But let us not judge, turn a blind eye, nor close our mind.

On this note I close this rather brief Newsletter, but as always, I ask that you continue to support your local authors through the many ways that you can. This can be done through writing reviews, sharing news, and standing behind your favourite author. I sincerely thank each of you who continue to support me in the many ways that you do. I also look forward to feedback on my news, and comments on my media sites. Please feel free to visit my official website, www.rusty-blackwood.com, where you will find direct links to my Facebook, and Twitter. I hope to hear from you, and I look forward to continuing my work for each of you who kindly support it, and enjoy my written word.
And as always, support your local authors, and all your local talents in the Arts.
Cheers,
Rusty B.
