Romance, drama, fantasy, comedy and musicals were all areas of the 72nd Golden Globe awards given out at the up-scale Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles last night. Below is the direct link to the Golden Globe’s official website and assorted coverage of the program, which is said to be one of the best thus far. The show ran for the scheduled three hours and managed to complete itself in the allotted three with the winners managing to contain their acceptance speech within the allotted time frame. My favorite segment, was the delectable George Clooney receiving the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award, given by the Hollywood Foreign Press for outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment. He is such a deserving recipient of that award and continues to carry on his quest to make the world a better place — and I have to say how much I admired his off-the-cuff, heartfelt mini speech to his elegant new wife Amal.
I was disheartened though to see no memorial segment this year. I do not know the reason for this, but there was something mentioned by the co-hosts at one point about the time run and the show’s producers, but I still feel they should have arranged for it somehow even if it meant cutting time in another area — and Heaven forbid they cut a commercial! Write your views on this, and grab the link to check out the winners.
Rusty.
