It is hard to believe that we are fast-speeding down the last leg of summer. Not even an entire month to go before we officially phase into autumn. I can remember nicer summers, as far as weather is concerned, but regardless of the over abundance of cool and wet days, it still beats what is fast-approaching. I’m not a cold and damp-weather person, I don’t do well and the older I become the less I like the cold season, but on the other hand I’m not a hot, humid weather person either. So there you go, and if you’re anything like me you try and find a happy medium and hope for the best. My father always said that everything balances in the end, one way or the other, and it’s taken me many years of experiencing the same to find out how wise a man he truly was, and now on with my literary news of August.
>> This month by way of public events is basically a repeat of last month. No signings or readings, but my fall event calendar is fast filling in. For those in my area I hope to see you at one of them. When you get slow times it does not mean a writer is not busy or working; quite the opposite in fact. I’ve been experiencing great headway on my newest romantic fiction drama, ‘Willow’s Walk’ and it feels good to see the page count growing. As it stands, I hope to release this engaging novel during Niagara’s literary month of June 2015. I have recently been releasing audio excerpts from the novel, and will continue to offer them periodically throughout the winter. Watch my media sites for these excerpts, as well as updates on the novel itself. In the meantime, as I did in last month’s newsletter, I’m posting the links to two audio excerpts – a little treat, one might say, and insight to the novel’s intense material.

>> Next month in Niagara is The Niagara Falls Night of Art, and I will be taking part in a Book Fair, as well as Reading from my latest 4 star romantic fiction/drama, ‘Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary’
happening at the Niagara Falls History Museum, take this link: https://www.facebook.com/nfmuseums, and link to Official Event Invite https://www.facebook.com/events/331595660335495/ happening on September 18th during the time listed on the roaster.>> September 20th between the hours of 4 – 4:45 pm will find me front and center at Seaway Mall COLES in Welland, Ontario: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Coles-Seaway-Mall/131913826860148 as I sign copies of the heart-touching romantic drama, ‘Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary’. ‘Passions/Revelations’ is on the shelves in the romance department of this fine store, and for those obtaining copies prior to the signing, please bring them by my table during the time of my signing and I will be only too happy to sign them.
>> For any author, Indie or otherwise, the need for Press Releases are immensely important and totally required, and my efficient and on-the-nose Marketing Rep & Publicist, Don McCauley, never fails to produce in this area. This month’s topic covers a growing quandary for those of us who write romantic fiction ever since the likes of Erotica titles like 50 Shades of Grey and others written in the same vein have unfortunately been creating the misconception that they are, in fact, romance. It is an issue that needs addressing, either that or a dressing down, and I hope my stand creates and warrants an on slot of those wishing their own say. Please have a read, and feel free to comment. As always, thank you Don, and you may read this month’s engaging Release by following this shortened link: http://ow.ly/AJiMi.
I am always pleased to bring this monthly news to you by way of this Newsletter. Input, and comments, whatever they may be, are always welcome. Also, if you would like to be removed from the mailing list, please drop me a line via my contact box located on my website’s home page under the subject heading ‘Remove Me’ and it will be applied.
I wish to thank all those who kindly support me in my endeavors by reviews, word of mouth, and purchase of my work. An Indie author is solely dependent on the online population of readers, as well as those whom support locally, and all who continue to lend their ongoing support in however they may choose.
“Each and every gesture is appreciated more than you know.”
And as always, support your local authors, as well as all your local talent in the Arts!
Cheers!
Rusty
