Summer has begun, as well as the heat of the season. I’m not a hot weather person, nor am I a lover of winter with its dreadful cold and ice; if I had my way, I’d love nothing better than sunny days, comfortable temps, rain when required, and no humidity. But we can’t always have what we want, so we must accept what is given, and now on with the news of June.

This month has been rather slow by way of events for me, with only one appearance and reading at the June 17th Niagara Literary Arts Festival reading, at Fine Grind Café on James Street in downtown St. Catharines, Ontario. I was honored to be named featured author for the evening, and was also pleased to be asked to host the evening’s festivities. It was both satisfying and uplifting to see such a good turn-out enjoying the sterling work that was read, and the fine authors who wrote them. Photographic coverage of the evening events was expertly shot by Miss Carson E. Doan of C E Doan Photography. I am pleased to announce the beginning of my newest romantic fiction drama, ‘The Perils of Autumn’, a sordid tale of love, intrigue, and heartbreak set in the 1980’s, and interestingly played out within the confines of a successful equestrian racing stable, located in the beautiful blue-grass hills outside Lexington, Kentucky. Two chapters are completed, and the story moves forward. Watch for updates as it progresses.

As new work is created, it often pulls interest away from work already completed. I never like to see that happen, for the time, work, and sweat that goes into the writing of a piece – any piece – is time not to be forgotten or should it be overlooked. With this in mind, please enjoy the 2013 official theatrical trailer for my 4 star romantic fiction drama, ‘Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary’, which continues to ask the question: ‘Can love truly stand the test of time?’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veB3mcybE30 ‘Passions in Paris’ is available in paperback and Kindle at all Amazons worldwide. In the St. Catharines and immediate surrounding areas, copies of this fine novel, as well as all my work can be directly obtained through me by contacting me at my official website at www.rusty-blackwood.com, or by e-mailing me at writerrusty@hotmail.ca.

As June comes to its end, I would once again like to thank all those who continue to support my work in the many ways that you do. It is most appreciated, and never taken for granted. I would also like to remind you, that the household names of today in all area of the Arts, were once unknown, that is, until people gave them a chance. Remember, a fine piece of work can come from any source. Take a chance, you might find yourself pleasantly surprised.
I applaud you, and I thank you.
Cheer!
Rusty.
