I begin this month’s newsletter by welcoming my favourite time of year – autumn – and although this beautiful season is followed by cold, snow, and frigid temps, the beauty of it cannot be dismissed or denied. The colours can be spectacular, breath-taking and soul-touching, and I hope wherever you are within the northern hemisphere – especially those in northern regions of it – enjoy a fantastic showing of mother nature’s beauty at its finest. For those of you in the southern hemisphere, I wish you a wondrous spring and all that Mother Nature brings forth within that glorious season. There is one more day left in September, which means I’m cutting it close with my news of it, so I shall get on with it.
>> Interviews are a must – especially for the Indie author – and I recently had the privilege of doing two. The first was with The Indie View and featured on their site September 5th. http://www.theindieview.com/2013/09/05/indieview-with-rusty-blackwood-author-of-passions-in-paris/#more-7013. The second, done with Indie Author Land, was featured on their site September 11th. http://www.indieauthorland.com/archives/4891.
>> Book-signings have finally begun for ‘Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary,’ my new fictional romance/drama released this summer, and they couldn’t have gotten off to a better start. Saturday, September 14th. saw me at the always busy Seaway Mall Coles https://www.facebook.com/pages/Coles-Seaway-Mall/131913826860148 in Welland, Ontario and it was a fine time all around. It was a beautiful sunny day with an an assortment of familiar faces, many of whom stopped by for a catch-up and discuss the new romance in detail, and I managed to snap a good pic of my table at this event. Many thanks again to those who picked up a copy, and I hope you enjoy the incredible journey of which you’re about to embark within the pages.
>> The following Saturday, September 21st. saw me welcoming in autumn at the elegant Chapters in Fairview Mall in St. Catharines, Ontario, https://www.facebook.com/ChaptersSt.Catharines?ref=br_tf my favourite signing haunt where an array of people come and go, and during their visit, often stop and chat. This visit was especially enjoyable as a few friends I haven’t seen in a long while came by to catch up and spend some time. I love it when that happens, for there is nothing as enjoyable as catching up with good friends. Niagara SNAP caught this event and the coverage will be carried in their October issue, available at their many outlets October 2nd. and I will be posting the online link to this in next month’s newsletter. In the meantime you can catch a glimpse here:
>> I hosted my 2nd. Free Kindle Giveaway y on September 19th for ‘Passions/Revelations’ and I hope all those who downloaded a copy will enjoy it, and further comment your enjoyment on the book’s Amazon page at http://www.amazon.com/Passions-Paris-Revelations-Diary-ebook/dp/B00DXWF54I/ref=la_B0092XLBRM_1_1_title_1_kin?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1380473652&sr=1-1
>> My September Press Release is chocked full of news, reviews, and happenings https://rusty-blackwood.com/ or direct link http://www.freepublicitygroup.com/release_rusty_blackwood_romance_novel_sept113.html.
>> Plans are in the works for ‘An Evening with Rusty,’ a retrospective, in-depth look into my work, past to present, presented through a stunning video interview format and conducted by acclaimed internet radio host, Mr. Don McCauley, founder and CEO of The Free Publicity Focus Group http://www.freepublicitygroup.com/, and The Author’s Marketing Powerhouse http://www.theauthorsmarketingpowerhouse.com/. >> Work continues on my upcoming fictional romance/drama, ‘Willow’s Walk,’ (no cover image preview as as yet but hopefully soon) a shocking and intense story about what can happen when dire straits push someone too far. Stay tuned for updates on this upcoming fictional romance/drama!
As September draws to a close I would once again like to thank all those who diligently support my work and efforts in not only bringing it to the public eye, but keeping it there. Your efforts, and your kindness is appreciated more than you know. Thank you once again. And as always, support your local talents in the Arts. Remember, the well-known names throughout the world in their respective fields were once unknown – that is – until someone took a chance and read, listened, and looked. It is through people who do this that allow unknown talent to be discovered and enjoyed. So don’t be afraid to check out that unfamiliar novel by that unknown writer, listen to that yet to be applauded singer and or group, take time to look at new paintings, sculptures and exhibits by yup and coming artists, and check out that new play at your local theater venue. Who knows, you might glad that you did.
Cheers!
Rusty.
