Welcome to another Newsletter! It’s hard to believe that July is almost completed. Where does the time go? It seems like the month has barely begun when the last remaining days are staring you in the face. The summer of 2016 has been unyielding with regard to heat and drought. I believe it’s set a record for both. Makes one wonder what the winter will be like. My late father always said that things must balance themselves, and they always do. Does this mean the winter will be nothing but excessive cold, snow, and wind? We get what we get, regardless of our wants, and now on with the news of July.

My newest romantic fiction drama, ‘The Perils of Autumn’, is a fast-moving tale about life at the posh ‘Landon Lawns Stables’, a Kentucky horse farm and racing stable just outside Lexington, which enables the prying eye to see what goes on within the walls of what appears to be a quaint and quiet life. Autumn Leeves, a young LPN sent to care for the ailing wife of a stalwart aging Englishman, soon becomes ensnared in the world of racing silks, jockeys, and what lies within the tack room, that of which contains a long-kept secret.
Watch for updates as this novel grows.

As many know, I pulled my 5-star award winning romantic fiction drama, ‘Willow’s Walk’ from sale for a refit. I set a high standard for my work, regardless if it is a short story, poem, or a full length novel, and when a piece gets released that is below standard, it cannot be left to chance, therefore I am in the process of a totally new revision. I hope to re-release Willow very soon, and it is my hope that she will be received with anticipation, and applause. I have been issuing updates on my assorted media sites, so please be sure to check them out.

A new Press Release by my esteemed and efficient marketing rep & publicist, Don McCauley, is soon to be released, so watch for that. It will be appearing on my official website at www.rusty-blackwood.com, as well as my assorted media sites. I was hoping the Release would be ready for insertion in this Newsletter, but it has not yet been officially released. I hope you check it out when it is.

With the exception of the new ‘Willow’s Walk’ refit, this has been a rather quiet month, and that’s okay, because writers need vacations too. The world of writing and touring around promoting work can be both hectic, and tiring, especially when the work continues year round. I enjoy this quiet time, but I also look forward to the new schedule beginning in the fall.

Reviews, and word of mouth, are the best support an author can receive. Sales are important, of course, but how a written piece is received and viewed by the reader is what brings awareness and popularity to a title, which in turn brings more sales.
I thank each and every one of you who consistently support me and my work through the assorted ways that you do. It is totally appreciated, and never once taken for granted. Please support your local authors, as well as all your local talent in the Arts! See you next month!
Cheers!
