RUSTY BLACKWOOD’S FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER 2019 …
Greetings Readers!
Here we are with the second month of 2019 ending. Do you ever wish you could slow time? I do, yet it is not meant to be that way. As a child, I remember thinking that time would never pass, it would be forever before something I was looking forward to would arrive, and an entire year felt like an eternity. I really can’t say that I feel that now, especially when looking back over the incredible amount of it that has passed since I used to think it forever.

This has been another busy month, and with the recent release of two new titles, it has been an exciting one. I no longer do public events throughout the winter months, however, I have now started to arrange my event calendar for launching and signings for The Perils of Autumn. I am pleased to say this new novel garnered a five-star rating from Readers Favorite Books while still in pre-release. Willow’s Walk did as well and was the first to award me five stars, so to have it happen again is something that pleases me greatly. A writer never knows when they begin a new piece as to how it will turn out, or be received by readers and reviewers; it’s simply putting it out there with hopes for the best. The new novel, published by Tellwell Talent Publishing, is available in Paperback, Hardback, and Kindle editions at Amazon.com https://www.amazon.com/Perils-Autumn-Rusty-Blackwood-ebook/dp/B07MWJ7S4Q/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?crid=1TMT7J7KB62YC&keywords=the+perils+of+autumn+by+rusty+black+wood&qid=1551291370&s=gateway&sprefix=the+perils+of+autu%2Caps%2C156&sr=8-1-fkmr0 , Amazon.ca. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/022880826X?pf_rd_p=5a1aedcb-634e-416c-9e4d-99f483cdfe00&pf_rd_r=8SJ990X3FXXATRPMANFF AND Chapters.com in paperback, hardback, and KOBO at https://www.chapters.indigo.ca/en-ca/books/the-perils-of-autumn/9780228808268-item.html?ikwid=the+perils+of+autumn&ikwsec=Home&ikwidx=0 OR at the order desk of any Chapters. The cover of Perils was entered into the All Author (allauthor.com) Top February Cover https://allauthor.com/cover-of-the-month/3829/ and by generous votes, made it to the third round, finishing #38 with 111 votes. My thanks and gratitude to all who kindly and consistently cast their vote in each round to assist the cover in finishing where it did. I have entered the cover of Willow’s Walk for the Top March cover, and I hope it will be accepting of your votes once again.

My first book-signing and launch event for The Perils of Autumn is happening on April 6th from 1 – 4:30 pm at Seaway Mall Coles in Welland. I haven’t been to this bookstore in a while, and I am looking forward to returning with my new novel. Willow’s Walk is on the shelves there in the romance department, and I am so looking forward to The Perils of Autumn joining her. I am also pleased to say that I will be the store’s featured author for April and will also be interviewed by Seaway Mall Media surrounding the launch and signing for The Perils of Autumn. I am very much looking forward to these events, and I will be carrying coverage of them in my April Newsletter, so I hope you will watch for it. I am also pleased to present the third installment in the ongoing Derwood comedy series, this one entitled, Derwood Goes Caribbean. This series has been a delight to write, and I look forward to creating his next adventure. Paperback and Kindle editions are available at amazon.com https://www.amazon.com/DERWOOD-GOES-CARIBBEAN-Rusty-Blackwood/dp/1795139706/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?crid=2JYWF227NW1W3&keywords=derwood+goes+caribbean&qid=1551293594&s=gateway&sprefix=derwood%2Caps%2C154&sr=8-1-fkmr0 AND amazon.ca https://www.amazon.ca/DERWOOD-GOES-CARIBBEAN-Rusty-Blackwood/dp/1795139706/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_1?crid=1EOP2AY5TUEIZ&keywords=derwood+goes+caribbean&qid=1551293672&s=gateway&sprefix=derwood%2Caps%2C155&sr=8-1-fkmrnull

I am pleased to announce my invitation from Danielle Hampton, executive producer of The Authors Show, to participate in this year’s Top Female Author 2019, making this the third year to be invited. This contest is open for all genres, and I look forward to bringing the information to you in next month’s Newsletter. I hope you will support me as you have kindly done for the past two years.

A written review and rating from a reader of one’s work is so very important. It allows others to gain interest in a written piece they might not otherwise know about or consider reading. In the world of self-publishing, reader reviews are worth their weight in gold, so please consider writing a review for not only my work, but for any independent author’s work you may choose to read; it carries more worth than you know.
As I bring this Newsletter to a close, I would like to remind everyone to drive with caution in this blustery, seemingly endless winter, and watch for children out and about. Spring is right around the corner – in fact, it will have come by the time I write my March Newsletter, so let us welcome it with open arms, a cheerful smile, and a grand hurrah!
And as always, support your local authors, as well as all your local talent in the Arts!
Cheers!
Rusty B.

Rusty, I like you as a person, but as someone who uses this site mainly to sell your books, you’re a bit of a pain, and you know where.
Geddes;
Thank you for your comment. Every one is always welcomed to air their views. This is my official website. I pay for it’s use, therefore I can use it however I wish, regardless if my doing so is a pain in your ass, or anyone else’s. I speak about a lot of things in this Journal/Blog, and marketing my work is a large part of it – just as it is with any author in this business. You are, of course, welcomed to respond, as long as it is done respectfully in stating your opinions, and if you cannot adhere to this request, then kindly not bother to visit.
