Rusty Welcomes March …

We’ve waited for this! I know I have! In Niagara, it has come in like a lamb – so far – and it is just coming noon. The old adage stated, ‘If March comes in like a lamb it will go out like a lion — If it comes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb’. I don’t know how much I actually believe this, but I have seen it play out that way many times. Spring is 20 days away from today – almost 3 weeks – and those 3 weeks may feel an eternity and even when the calendar officially announces the arrival of spring, the weather may state otherwise. However, regardless of what happens between now and March 21st. the anticipation and the knowing that winter is soon behind us and spring is right around the corner, brings hope as well as lost energy. At least I hope it does for you – it does for me.

Winter can be endless in Canada; often feeling like it will never end – and we actually do have cold weather much longer than warm, but that knowledge does not deter from the welcome we give spring and what all it brings to each of us. I very much look forward to the new cycle, greenery, flowers, blue skies, and birds singing. I hope you do also. Take the time to stop, look around, and enjoy it.
