Romantic fiction author Rusty Blackwood’s Newsletters 2013

JANUARY NEWSLETTER 2013

Well here we are, second last day of 2013′s first month. As usual time is speeding along, carrying each of us right along with it. The month, so far, has been filled with unpredictable weather, ranging from frigid temperatures right up to spring like, in fact today has seen the mildest temps since early last fall, reaching 14° C by mid-afternoon. Unbelievable, but it will be short-lived as the high tomorrow is expected to be a mere 2°. Will be interesting to see what February brings. Now to the news at hand.

Passions In Paris Cover>> An easy month for me by way of book-signing activity as none are scheduled until next month. However, activity on both my part, as well as my marketing Representative and Publicist, Don McCauley continue to grow around the expected release of my romance/drama “Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary,” with the recent release of the book’s official trailer, which is being carried on YouTube, Daily Motion, Metacafe, my website, as well as numerous media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Reddit, and many others. I’m extremely proud of this stunning new trailer by Don McCauley, and I hope you take the time to check it out by taking this provided link:
http://youtu.be/2kCdpaR-ydQ

>> The book, which is being published by CreateSpace Publishing, is now in production for its expected spring release. Check my website, and my Facebook often for updates with regard to the release date, and availability outlets.

Through The Eyes Of Innocence Cover>> I will be at Seaway Mall COLES in Welland, Ontario on February 23rd. from 1 – 4:30 pm signing copies of my 2nd collection of children short-stories, “Through the Eyes of Innocence,”and I hope to see many familiar faces from the area. This interesting collection, filled with stories based on my childhood growing up on my paternal grandfather’s farm in south-western Ontario in the 1950′s, as well as four selections written for each of my four grandchildren respectively, is sure to capture your imagination in many forms, possibly bringing to mind fond memories of your own childhood.

Derwood Tugbottom Cover>> I am presently at a cross-roads with regard to my monthly draw for a free, signed copy of my work, for it appears little interest is being shown other than spam, which is immediately deleted. I had intended this month on giving away a copy of my adult comedy, “The Misadventures of Derwood Tugbottom”  to whomever’s name was drawn, but I have no name to report. If anyone would like this contest to continue I suggest you let it be known, either by comment on my media sites, or e-mail to me at writerrusty@hotmail.ca. If enough response is received then I shall continue the contest; if not, it will be discontinued.

Once again I would like to take the opportunity to thank those of you who do show interest, as well as continued support of my work, and very kindly do what you can to help bring awareness to what it is I’m trying to achieve. It is sad to think that when someone goes to their local library, or to a bookstore to purchase a book, or order one online, that they only think of well-known names and titles to take out or purchase, as opposed to someone who is trying to get their name and titles known. What the public sadly over-looks, is the fact that these well-known names, and titles of their work, were once unknown also, until someone decided to give them a chance, which in turn increased their exposure, and made them a known name. It would be nice to think that this practice is still in existence when it comes to new names and titles. It is not only the authors who benefit from this, but the readers as well.

And as always, support your local authors, as well as all your local talents in the Arts. It will be greatly appreciated if you do.

Rusty.

JUNE NEWSLETTER 2013

This has been an extremely exciting month for me getting ready for the release of my long anticipated romance/drama, ‘Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary’. Last minute preparations, do this – do that – make certain this is done – wondering if I’ve done that, the list goes on and on. It never gets easier; then again if it did it might lose its incredible appeal and I wouldn’t want that to happen so I learn to cope, and now, on with the news of June.

>> As I wrote in my opening paragraph, it’s been an incredibly busy month but it has also been an extremely exciting one. No book signings – as yet – however that will change by the end of summer – but I was invited this year to take part in the Pelham Festival of Books which was held in the beautiful town of Fonthill on Saturday, June 22nd. in the Festival Room at Pelham Library where I took part with nine other talented, and creative authors whose range in different genres was phenomenal. You can check out my part of this successful event in some fine pics shot by my wonderfully talented granddaughter, Carson E. Doan of Carson Doan Photography, St. Catharines by taking this link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151760192377033.1073741828.192607652032&type=1 June has been literary month throughout Niagara, and I was pleased to have been part of it.

>> The Pelham Festival Book Fair was also host to my local launch of ‘Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary.’
Copy of Rusty_Blackwood_Cover_New

>> The release of this totally new revised copulation of the previous two – with new additional content – has been a long time in the making, but I am so pleased to have been given the opportunity to bring this touching story to fruition in the way that I had originally envisioned.

>> The paperback version of the romance/drama has been officially released and you may check out its official announcement by taking this link: http://bit.ly/1chLBT2

>> Please be reminded that I will only be carrying a minimal stock of Passions/Revelations, but it is now available at the fine online bookstores of https://www.createspace.com/4151917, http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/passions-in-paris-rusty-blackwood/1115775168?ean=9781482312690 and http://www.amazon.com/Passions-Paris-Revelations-Lost-Diary/dp/1482312697/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1372283307&sr=1-5 as well as Amazon worldwide.

COMING SOON TO AMAZON KINDLE!! WATCH MY WEBSITE FOR UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENT OF ITS RELEASE!!

This has been an amazing month but one I have had a blast within. If you have not done so, please check out Passions’ official trailer on my website at https://rusty-blackwood.com, and take some time to check out the book itself; it’s well worth the read, and you won’t be disappointed in the heart-touching journey you’ll take.

As I do at the end of each Newsletter, I’d like to again take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you who continually support me and my work. It means so very much, more than you realize. And, as always, support your local authors, as well as all local talent in the Arts and remember, those whose names are a now household word were once unknown, that is until someone took the time to notice and spread the word.
Cheer!
Rusty.

Hello everyone! We now find ourselves well into summer with just over a month and three quarters to go. It’s been an up and down summer so far with regard to temperatures, but the past few days have actually been really nice – and I’ll take it any way I can get it, for I really don’t relish what will come in about three months or less. But first comes autumn, my favorite time of year, but I shouldn’t be getting ahead of myself as we still have lots of summer to go, and now on with the show – or in this case July’s news.

>> I am pleased to continue promotions of my newest Press Release surrounding this heart-touching fictional romantic drama, and you may check it out by taking this shortened link:
http://bit.ly/14Bl6Jt and be sure to catch next month’s Press Release for an upcoming surprise!

This month has been an extremely exciting one for me, as it has witnessed the finale fruition of Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary and it is my hope that it will be received well, but more importantly, that it will bring as much enjoyment to the reader that it has provided for me in writing it. The world of a writer can be many things, but the one area that never changes is the exuberant feeling of completing a story, and bringing it to the public eye.

And as always, support your local authors as well as all your local talent in the Arts and remember, all those extremely well-known names in literature, or any field in the Arts, were once unknown and trying their utmost to gain attention with regard to their craft. They continued to be unknown until ‘someone’ took a chance. Be that someone. Give your support, purchase their work, and spread the word.
See you next month!
Rusty.
