Hi everyone! I decided to write the last Newsletter of 2015 a bit early. We’ve still got all of next week before the end of the month arrives, but by doing so now allows me a chance to let my news be known, and to also send my best wishes for a Blessed Yuletide Season.

I’ve had a busy time since my last Newsletter, two fun events, and the official release of my newest romantic fiction drama, ‘Willow’s Walk’! YEAAA!!! I shall speak about that in a moment, but first my news leading up to it.

When you are trying to gain ground in your area and get your work known, you take advantage of every possible outlet that might allow that. Usually literary events are the norm, and always the best area to take part in, but that also depends on the time of year. Most literary events – at least in my area – happen throughout the month of June, with the odd event happening at other times, so in the meantime one adds their name to roasters of other events, namely Xmas Bazaars, and Markets.

I try to do a few, it would be impossible to do them all, but the two that I did was time well spent. November 29th found my 4-star romantic fiction drama, ‘Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary’ and I at the 2nd Annual Ferndale Public School Xmas Bazaar. I was efficiently assisted by St. Catharines’ AVON representative, Wendy Byng. Ms. Byng has creatively paired selective fragrances to accompany my romance titles, and for ‘Passions in Paris’ she had chosen the delectable ‘PASSION’ and it ‘is’ delectable. The coordinators of the event coyly placed my table in the school’s library, best location they could have chosen for an author at a Xmas Craft Bazaar. Dozens of people milled through and this is what you want for the awareness of a romance novel – any book for that matter. The following week, on Friday, December 4th, Ms. Byng and I shared a table at the extremely bustling and eclectic Ridley College Christmas Market. This one had it all! You name it; it was there, and in abundance. Ms. Byng manned her own half of the table which was festively decked out in AVON, and I controlled my end which tastefully displayed copies of ‘Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary,’ as well as a few early copies of my 5-star award winning romantic fiction drama, ‘Willow’s Walk’ which proudly carried its newly assigned AVON fragrance, ‘Flor Violeta’ – a truly gorgeous fragrance! I hope those who obtained copies of Willow will enjoy their walk with her, and also their sample of Willow’s ‘scent’. I also held a contest to win a personally signed, gift-boxed copy of ‘Passions/Revelations.’ The ballot box was almost full by the time my 6:30 pm draw rolled around, and I would once again like to congratulate the elated winner, Joyce Coultas of St. Catharines! I hope you enjoy the incredible journey you are about to embark on, Joyce! The month of November, especially leading up to the end, was an extremely busy and exciting time for me, as I prepared to release the long-awaited, ‘Willow’s Walk’.

Willow’s journey to fruition was a long time coming with what seemed endless setbacks along the way, but like all things with me, I was determined to see it through. I am so proud of this novel, the story it tells, and the message it will hopefully bring. Willow was officially released online on December 8th, and the official launch throughout my area will take place at different events at selected venues beginning in February, continuing over the course of late winter, and throughout the spring of 2016. Please watch for announcements of dates, places, and times.

In the professional world of writing no title can be released without proper coverage to introduce and present it, and once again Mr. Don McCauley, my efficient marketing rep & publicist, excelled through his A+ Press Release. Please read it here: http://bit.ly/1Iajhbe This release virtually took Willow all over the States, and I hope even further! Newsletters are a wonderful way in which to keep informed and up to date on different happenings, what’s coming, and general information. I enjoy doing these, for I greatly appreciate those who take time to follow my work, support my efforts as well as me, and make what I do that much more worthwhile, however that being said, if you do not wish to receive my monthly Newsletter, and or would like to be removed from my mailing list, please contact me and your request will be carried out.

This Christmas, as I’m sure many of you are aware, is an extremely sad one for me for it is the first one without my mother, whom passed away September 18th, 2015. December 25th is also Mom’s birthday; she would have been ninety-four. My mother had a very long life, of which I am truly grateful, but it does not diminish the devastating loss I feel in both my life, and my direction. She was, and will always remain, the most gracious and stalwart lady I ever had the pleasure of knowing, embracing, and sharing of life. I owe her so very much, my life, my guidance, and my determination to face whatever comes my way. For those who knew her, please remember her this Christmas, and wish her Happy Birthday.

My warmest regards,

Rusty Blackwood

It will be exciting for me to get the next book by Rusty – “Willow Walk” – I have some of her other ones like “Passions in Paris – a Revelation” is a wonderful book to read. Please support your local writers and artists.
