Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood’s January Newsletter 2018 …

Welcome to a new year everyone!

I hope this finds each of you doing well, and settled back into your daily routine, whatever that may be. It’s hard to believe that this is already the third last day of the first month of 2018. Just think, if we could capture the speed of time to use however we wished, wouldn’t that be something? If it were mine to use, I truly think I would slow it down. How about you?

This first Newsletter of the year will not be as lengthy as they usually are, as I don’t have a lot of news to report. As many of my readers know, I did not book any events leading up to the Christmas season, and I have not inquired any over the main part of the winter. I hope to start my event season in March with a signing for Willow’s Walk, but at present I haven’t a confirmed date to give. Be sure to follow my official website’s Journal at https://rusty-blackwood.com/journal/ for updates and event confirmations when they happen. You can also find them on my Facebook and Twitter, both directly accessed from my website.

Work is proceeding nicely on my upcoming romantic fiction drama, The Perils of Autumn. I am finding the characters both engaging and interesting in the way they interact with each other as the story grows. I have always been interested in equestrian life in its many forms. I find it thrilling to watch both English dressage and jumping events, marveling at how well the horses are trained and the heights they effortlessly clear. I love to watch thoroughbred racing, and I adore the Triple Crown series. I also enjoy western events, and have great fun watching barrel racing, the speed they go, and the accuracy of the event. Then again I have always loved horses, the many breds, and the intelligence each holds.

The story of The Perils of Autumn, primarily set in the early 1970s, will capture your interest, and pull you into a world that many only see through a pair of binoculars at a raceway, or sitting in a crowded grandstand. But it is also revealed through the eyes of newly graduated LPN, Autumn Leeves, who is assigned round the clock care of the terminally ill wife of an English equestrian master who is owner of the impressive Landon Lawns Stables, located just outside Lexington Kentucky in a posh area known as The Meadows.

The story introduces you to interesting characters, one of which is a world celebrated jockey who works exclusively for Landon Lawns Stables, bringing them accolades that many in the equestrian circle only dream about; however he holds a dark secret that he will go to any length to protect.

I recently offered Chapter 23 in its entirety, and you may enjoy it by taking this link: https://rusty-blackwood.com/rusty-brings-readers-2-date-anticipated-romantic-fiction-drama-perils-autumn/

I am still proud of my riveting, 5 star award winning romantic fiction drama, Willow’s Walk, available in both paperback and Kindle at all Amazons worldwide. Willow Sutherland-Crosby is a multi-faceted character, one whom you will not soon forget, nor will you forget the often perilous path she walks. I could well relate to Willow, and I am pleased that many of you could as well. I thank each of you who have read this novel, commented on it, and reviewed it. I hope you will continue to recommend it to fellow readers.

As my library of work grows, I can never forget my earlier titles, the 4-star grand scale romantic fiction drama, Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary, the comedy series: The Misadventures of Derwood Tugbottom, and Derwood Returns, as well as my poetry collections, and children’s short stories. I am proud of them all, and if you haven’t yet checked them out, I hope you will. Each are available on Amazon.

I look forward to bringing this monthly Newsletter to you, and I hope you enjoy receiving it, catching up with me, and gaining insight into my writing world and, as always, support your local authors, as well as all your local talents in the Arts. See you next month!

Cheers,

Rusty B.
