Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood’s July Newsletter 2014!

Well here we are, part-way through summer and the cicadas are already emitting their stimulating music which often signifies hot, humid weather, and the beginning of the end for summer. I must say I rather like their song, which is caused by the males rubbing their hind legs together at an incredible speed, but I can’t say as I like the idea of where the beautiful summer season stands in the measure of remaining time, and now on with my literary news of July.

>> Compared to last month, where every local author, poet, and musician throughout the Niagara area was run off their feet with regard to events, this month seems quite dull. No signings, at least for me, as I don’t secure signing over the summer months for I find it an actual waste of time. People are away on holidays and have either picked up their reading material for the beach or cottage, or are waiting for their return to do so for the long winter months to come. For me they begin again in September, with my first signing of the fall taking place at Coles in the Seaway Mall, Welland, Ont. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Coles-Seaway-Mall/131913826860148 happening on Sept. 20th. between 1 – 4:30 pm where you may find me at the right entrance front on to this bustling bookstore. I will be signing paperback copies of my heart-touching, 4-star, romance/drama, Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary. And be sure to catch an audio excerpt from the Prelude of this engaging romance novel at: https://rusty-blackwood.com/romantic-fiction-author-rusty-blackwood-offers-an-audio-excerpt-from-passionsrevelations/

>> Last month I took part in the second Pelham Festival Book Fair at the library in Fonthill along with some fine authors, both local and not-so-local, where we each took turn in reading selected excerpts from our work. I read from the ‘Interlude’ of Passions/Revelations which brings the reader to the half-way point of the story, and readies them for entry back into it. In my June Newsletter I did not have a photo of my participation, as Elaine Anderson, the coordinator, and photographer for the event, was away on holiday and had not uploaded the coverage until her return earlier this month. >> Work steadily continues on the upcoming romance/drama, ’Willow’s Walk’, a poignant story revolving around precocious Willow Sutherland-Crosby, as she stumbles from one unsettling situation to the next, one husband to the next, until she encounters an unsavory situation with a young man via the Internet. While all of this is going on, she continues to endure impossible situations caused by her estranged husband who is determined to bring her down.
