November is almost gone – vanished – vamoosed, as though it had never been, but oh what a busy one it has been! It’s great to be busy; it brings a certain amount of satisfaction in knowing one’s calendar is filled with events that are helping to get you better known, and hopefully sales along with it. I love doing events in their assorted stages, readings, signings, and taking part in bazaars and the like where there are endless streams of people, both active participants and onlookers — it’s all time well spent, and now on with the news of this busy November.

>> November 8th. found me kicking off the festive holiday season with a signing for ‘Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary’ at Seaway Mall Coles in Welland, Ontario.

I always enjoy my visits to this busy bookstore, and each one becomes as memorable as the prior. It’s so nice to see the friendly faces of those I’ve come to recognize, and also to chat with all who stop by to discuss Passions as well as what I’ve got coming up. Again I thank Rebecca and John of Coles for their assistance, and ongoing support. >> The following Saturday, November 15th. found ‘Passions in Paris’ and I in the middle of a Xmas wonderland as we took part in Wendy Byng, Pam Davis, and Maria Reads’ Annual Xmas Bazaar where over 40 vendors participated with tables dressed to the nines! It was SUCH a fun event, and my sincere thanks go out to the organizers of this festive event, and a special shout-out of thanks to Wendy Byng for inviting me to be on-board! In keeping with the delicious flavor of ‘Passions in Paris’ my table was complimented by AVON’S delectable new fragrance, Passion. [Express your inner passion with this bold statement of sparkling star fruit, sensual jasmine and alluring vanilla bourbon.] http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Avon/Avon-Passion-21546.html NOTE – FOR THOSE IN THE NIAGARA AREA: During the month of December only, anyone directly purchasing a (gloss or matte finish) paperback copy of ‘Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary’ from me, may do so for the special festive price of $30.00 CAN ‘AND’ receive a free vile ( .05 fl.oz). of the to-die-for PASSION fragrance, compliments of St. Catharine’s AVON representative Wendy Byng. For this wonderful fragrance in its striking crimson bottle, be sure to copy & past Wendy’s e-mail wendybyng@hotmail.ca and tell her ‘Rusty sent you!’ An assortment of photographic coverage, shot by St. Catharine’s Indie photographer, Carson E. Doan, was submitted by Wendy Byng to Avon’s head office and when they are posted on their site I shall be sure to include a link to them. >> On November 22nd. I was on-hand at Fairview Mall Chapters in St. Catharines, Ont, signing copies of ‘Passions’ at the front of the store. This was my first visit back in six months, and it will be at least six more before my return. NOTE: For those in the Niagara area who would like to see more of their favouite local authors, both standard and independently published, now is the time to come forward to your local Chapters, speak up, and request the names of whom you would like to see more frequently of whose work is only made available at the time of their appearance. This new ‘nothing less than six-month guideline’ set down by Chapters is hurting local authors in the Niagara area – I am certain it is no doubt evoking the same results everywhere – and until the public is heard on this issue, it will continue, and local authors will continue to suffer by it. In the end, those who are affected the most will be you – the reader and consumer – for the writers of books, especially independent ones, cannot continue to publish their work with hope of it being displayed where it cannot be carried to sell, or the author allowed more frequent appearances in which to try. Please think about that the next time you decide to purchase that latest title at Chapters. Anyone wishing to catch a glance at this fleeting signing may do so by taking this link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152960428547033.1073741844.192607652032&type=1

>> I am presently awaiting the release of the newest official Press Release, scheduled for media release on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. The official releases are usually only released to media outlets, but December’s is a special one, obtaining selected news, and a very special offer, especially for Internet lovers of electronic reading devices. On that note, I will be sending it to all those on my mailing list as well. Be sure to take advantage of the special offers, and share on to others who may be looking for that perfect something.

>> And now, after months of wondering, searching, and collecting ideas, I finally made my choice for the official cover for my upcoming romantic fiction drama, ‘Willow’s Walk,’ and after considerable collaboration with my efficient marketing rep & publicist, Don McCauley, I am most pleased to display the finished cover fronting a story of intrigue, sorrow, mistrust, and love gone terribly wrong. I give you a first look at the intuitive, ‘Willow’s Walk.’

Now that this incredibly busy month has come to an end I find myself looking back over it, wishing I was just beginning it again, but everything has its time, and place. On that note I would again, like always, wish to thank each and every one of you who so kindly, and without fail, continue to support my efforts and my work. It is often difficult to express the proper words of thanks so they are read and accepted with the whole-hearted conviction in which they are written and meant. You know who you are, and I hope the names continue to grow. Thank you!

And as always, support your local authors, as well as ‘all’ your local talent in the Arts.

Cheers!
Rusty.
