September is almost over, autumn has arrived, and we move onto the season of fanciful colour, crisp air, and new memories to be made. For me, September is a sad month, as many of you know, but this one has been an exceptionally busy one with the preparations for the re-release of my 5-star, romantic fiction drama, ‘Willow’s Walk’; lining up the fall event schedule, and settling back into the routine of writing. I like being busy, it helps to keep the mind stimulated and occupied with things that helps one grow in mind and matters, and also keeps the creative juices flowing. I think most would agree – especially those who write – for without stimulation there can be no inspiration; without inspiration there can be no creation and now, on with the news of September.

Will she find it, or will her blind ambition be her downfall? There is only one way to find out, and I hope you will take the time to check it out. I have spoken many times about the importance of Press Releases, and they are never more in need than when announcing the release, or in the case of Willow’s Walk, the re-release, of a freshly published title to market. I am fortunate to work with one of the top marketing reps & publicists in the field, Mr. Don McCauley, owner of the Free Publicity Group, an excellent and on-the-nose marketing firm out of Wilmington, North Carolina http://www.freepublicitygroup.com Please take this shortened link to the Official Press Release for Willow’s Walk. http://bit.ly/2czZwQn

I have finally returned to The Perils of Autumn, my upcoming romantic fiction drama set in the 1980’s at Landon Lawns Stables, a posh, sought-after racing stable located in the lush, rolling hills just outside Lexington, Kentucky known as The Meadows.

“Autumn Leeves-Landon is a no-nonsense go-getter; nothing stands in her way once she sets her mind on something – or someone. But will her on-going dalliance in the tack-room reveal more than what she’s prepared for?”

As many of you know, I have long been a supporter of Port Colborne entertainer/extraordinaire, Joe Crawford of The Joe Show, and have been interviewed by him a few times. It is such fun each time I have the pleasure to be interviewed by him, and I look forward with great anticipation to once again be appearing on his show. I will be taping a segment for his Friday show, entitled, Fun Food Friday, on October 7, 2016 which will air October 28th at 4 pm EST on The Joe Show http://www.joecrawfordlive.com/the-Joe-show. This shall be great fun, as I will be joining him in the kitchen to bake a ‘ghoulish’ treat, and with the way I bake ‘ghoulish’ might be an understatement, but it sounds to be great fun. I shall also be reading from ‘Willow’s Walk,’ and answering Joe’s questions surrounding the novel, and its re-release. Stay tuned for further updates.

I love writing, and I love hearing from each of you. Comments on a title, reviews and ratings of a title, are so very important for those who, like me, are Indie authors who choose the self-publishing route. We do not have major Houses behind us, supplying bookstores with our titles, or paving the way for event after event. We must travel that road alone, seek our own marketing paths, and continue to strive for readership. Through word of mouth, so very much is gained. If you read a title written by a local author, please comment your read, rate your read, and if you like it, say so by commenting the author, telling your friends about the title you’ve read and enjoyed, and don’t be hesitant to support them. There are so many great independently published books waiting to be read and enjoyed, all it takes is the time to check them out.

As I close this Newsletter I want to, as always, thank all those who continue to support me and my work. I write because I enjoy the craft, but a reader’s words add so much to that enjoyment, and continue to encourage my need to sit at my keyboard, and create something new.

Support your local authors, as well as all your local talent in the Arts!

Cheers!

Rusty B.
