Rusty Blackwood Shares Her April Newsletter 2019 …

Welcome Readers, Fans, and Followers of my work. As always, it is a pleasure to connect with each of you once again. It’s been a busy month for me, but I like it and hope to keep up this pace for some time to come.

I began this month by kicking off my Official Niagara Launch & Signing Tour for my 5-star-award-winning romantic fiction drama, The Perils of Autumn on April 6th at Seaway Mall Coles in Welland, Ontario. Welland is mid-way  on the Niagara Peninsula located between Lake Ontario to the north, and Lake Erie to the south. I try to stay with well-known book-store chains such as Chapters, Coles and Indigo – Chapters and Coles are under the Indigo banner yet still use their original names. This can sometimes be confusing; however, I think readers are finally figuring this out. I had a great time seeing familiar faces and meeting new readers as well. I find their conversations both interesting and informative. You never know what you’re going to be asked or what new knowledge you’re going to obtain. That is what makes it interesting. I was also honored to be named Local Author of the Month for April 2019 by Seaway Mall COLES.  My sincere thanks to the management and staff.

As many of you know, I write an ongoing comedy series, centered around the fictional English character known as Derwood Tugbottom, an austere, eccentric retried London City Hall official, who leaves England behind in search of a wonderful retirement in Canada. Unfortunately, he has yet to find it.

My third installment in the series is Derwood Goes Caribbean. In this knee-slapping romp, Derwood, dejected by a defunct love at his current residence, the swinging Sunset Villa, located in the picturesque village of Vine Haven-on-the Lake, convinces his next-door neighbour and best friend, down to earth Scotsman Robert McEwen, to join him in a new adventure. Christmas of 2014 is fast approaching, and the intrepid Derwood talks Robert into taking a singles’ cruise with him to the sunny Caribbean, which sends them on another unbelievable adventure.

This newest installment is available in Paperback & Kindle at: https://www.amazon.com/DERWOOD-GOES-CARIBBEAN-Rusty-Blackwood/dp/1795139706/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_1?keywords=derwood+goes+caribbean&qid=1556551981&s=gateway&sr=8-1-fkmrnull, and https://www.amazon.ca/DERWOOD-GOES-CARIBBEAN-Rusty-Blackwood/dp/1795139706/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_1?crid=WGXAN6Y32TSF&keywords=derwood+goes+caribbean&qid=1556552075&s=gateway&sprefix=derwood%2Caps%2C143&sr=8-1-fkmrnull.

Do watch for the 4th installment, Derwood Comes Home, coming later this year.

Being interviewed for a new title out on the market is always an interesting requirement, and I was pleased to have been asked and interviewed by Seaway Mall Media preceding the first leg of my Niagara Launch & Signing Tour for The Perils of Autumn. This interview was followed by another appearance on The Joe Show for TJSN & Revealing Talk Radio. In it, we discuss The Perils of Autumn and my Derwood Comedy series, as well as my writing world in general. I had a great time doing this, and I hope you enjoy listening at:  https://soundcloud.com/thejoeshowlive/the-joe-show-s12-e24?fbclid=IwAR0e2Hv_B7TPBcsG-N4-AWEIXM_4ZL1Bltx4wxdPW3rb-qXHqwk_wZX3U50.

*Working cover for Return to Autumn

Work continues for the follow up to The Perils of Autumn, entitled, Return to Autumn. Readers will once again share in the often-tumultuous life of Autumn Leeves-Landon, and the ongoing trials and tribulations of life at Landon Lawns Stables, located outside Lexington Kentucky in a posh area known as The Meadows.

I am enjoying this follow-up fully as much as I did in writing The Perils of Autumn which brought me another 5-star award by Readers Favorite Books.
