Here we are, three days to April’s end; then we are into beautiful May, where blossoms will hang heavy, then fall like whimsically scented snowflakes, leaving behind fresh new leaves. I love this time of year almost as much as I love the early fall, and it’s so good to know everything once again renews. The cycle begins in whole, setting the scene for beautifully scented air, new crops, and wonderment all around, and now on with the news of April.

>> My first book-signing and reading at R&B Novel Teas in Niagara Falls, Ontario for my 5-star award winning romantic fiction drama, ‘Willow’s Walk,’ happened on April 2nd from 1 to 3 pm. What a delightful time I had, and I got the idea that those sitting in the audience were feeling much the same as me. This independent book shop and tea room is a magical mix of scents and words, meaning of course delicious teas, coffees, and literary works of every kind. It is owned and operated by Ms. Dale Rutherford, and she sure knows her teas. The blends are endless, and she has a combination for every mood you can experience. I was feeling a tad under the weather, but she fixed me up a tea blend that sure hit the spot, and helped decrease the soreness in my throat. For those in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and surrounding area, be sure to check out Dale’s shop for pleasures awaiting your pallet, and interesting reads awaiting your eyes. >> This Monday just past, April 25th, I was a guest on Niagara Cogecos’ TV program, ‘What’s New with Carrie Zeffiro’. This was my first TV interview, and I found it most interesting indeed. Ms. Zeffiro is a most accomplished interviewer, asking just the right questions, and knowing exactly how to keep her guest at ease. We spoke about Willow’s Walk, as well as my ongoing ventures in the world of writing and self publishing. It seemed it was over before it began, taking much longer to set up than actually doing it. At the present I do not have the air date, but this program airs in Niagara on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 6 pm, and Sunday at 1 pm on Cogeco 10, and HD 700. Once I have the air date, I shall post it on my media sites. I also hope to obtain a copy for my website.

This coming Friday, April 29th, I am off to the Port Colborne TV studios of The Joe Show Live, for the taping of my first ‘webisode’, TV interview conducted by Joe Crawford for his internet TV/Radio show. I was once interviewed live by Joe at the 2014 Romance Expo in Niagara Falls, where I was on hand with my 4-star romantic fiction drama, ‘Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary’, and later on the radio portion of his show. This appearance will center on my newly released, 5-star romantic fiction drama, Willow’s Walk,’ as well as my writing adventures and experiences. This is a laid back setting, and one I know I am going to have fun with. This webisode is expected to air on May 6 at: http://joecrawfordlive.com/jtv-video/ Be sure to mark your calendars!

April 30th marks the 2nd Annual Authors for Indies Day which is an International celebration by authors of independent book stores that carry their work, and support their ongoing efforts in so many ways. I am proud to be taking part in this celebration, happening at R&B Novel Teas, 4400 Queen Street, Niagara Falls, Ontario beginning at 10 am. I am scheduled to read from ‘Willow’s Walk’ at 2 pm. Following my time at the podium, I will be assisting patrons with selections of tea, or whatever beverage they may choose. This is shaping up to be a wonderful and exciting afternoon, and for those in Niagara Falls and immediate surrounding area, I hope you will take the time to enjoy this with us. http://www.novelteas.ca/

I have stated many times of the importance of the coveted ‘Press Release’. I say coveted, because in the world of self publishing they truly are, especially when they are presented in the professional, and always on-the-nose-manner of my stellar marketing rep & publicist, Mr. Don McCauley of http://www.freepublicitygroup.com/don/. Please take this link to this month’s Release: http://www.freepublicitygroup.com/news/release-carol-weir-romantic-fiction-novel-apr116/

Note: Please note that the Press Release speaks of my appearance at the Niagara on the Lake Writers’ Circle scheduled for May 8th, but at the time of confirmation it was not realized that date was Mother’s Day, so it was cancelled. It is to be rescheduled for September. Date to follow. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

As another month fast draws to a close, I would, as always, like to thank each and every one who consistently lends their support to me in so many ways. It is greatly appreciated, more than you realize, and I hope I can continue to be worthy of it. Also, Newsletters provide an excellent way in which to keep up with an author’s happenings, but should you wish to be removed from my mailing list, please contact me at my official website https://rusty-blackwood.com, and you will be removed – but I hope you stay.

And, like always, support your local authors, and all your local talents in the Arts!

Cheers!

Rusty B.
