The Perils of P2P – Pull to Publish – What it ‘really’ is, and how it affects romance fiction, as well as other genres.

Most interesting and informative article by author Lucy Morgan on P2P ( Pull to Publish), which means publishing one’s work for FREE on a public site that allows anyone to write and post their own fiction, or in a more serious undertaking, fan-fiction, romance or otherwise – which is written work based on someone else’s professionally published work; then after gaining a huge following, pulled to publish for SALE.. Her very interesting article describes what can really be viewed as an under-handed method of getting your work noticed by snaring a fan-base for free, then pull your work to publish and charge said fans, as well as everyone else.  This method is also becoming popular because these fans then spread the word and hype your work to tons of readers, telling them this is a must read , it’s selling like hotcakes so don’t be left out, and also by posting mock reviews on popular sites like Amazon, and Goodreads.  Take this link and read for yourself.

This kind of behavior hurts ALL authors, but especially small, independent, and aspiring authors. I commend Ms. Morgan for speaking her mind, and discussing this growing concern.

And as always, support your local authors, as well as all your local talents in the Arts.
